In the winemaking history of Crete, there is a Symbol ( ), ideogram 131, which signifies the concept of wine in two ancient scripts: Symbolo bottleLinear B and Cretan Hieroglyphic.The wine SYMBOLO is an important milestone in the history of the Lyrarakis estate. Exploiting an experience of over 40 vintages in the area, and after a long-lasting search for raw material of exceptional quality, vintage 2005 gave us a small quantity of grapes which fulfilled the quality prerequisites for the creation of a wine - symbol. The 15-month maturation in oak casks was followed by another 12 months aging in the bottle, and gave us 6,000 numbered bottles of the 2005 vintage. Our commitment is to only release this wine in the vintages that achieve excellence – it is therefore unknown when the next vintage of this wine is to be expected. You can safely age this bottle for a long time. |
