Wines - Varietals
The varietal wines of our estate are listed in this category.
These are wines produced from a single variety of autochtonous grapes. The goal is to give you the opportunity to taste Crete's rare varieties.
Dafni (the "laurel-grape" wine) and Plyto are the two varieties that our family saved from extinction back in the late eighties. The wines with the respective names are made from 100% each varietal.
Vilana (white), Kotsifali (red), and Mandilari (red) are more common in Crete and are considered the islands' most popular grapes among vinegrowers - all of the wines are again 100% monovarietals.
We always aim to vinificate the wines paying special attention to retaining each variety's character. All of the listed wines are a result of years of experience vinificating these grapes.
